Bought this bike for a number of reasons, but these sweet handlebars and bell were tops on the list. From the back. A fuller view of the front of the bike and another view of rust. A great looking seat, but I don’t love the color. From the back. Decent amount of rust, but it’ll clean up pretty good. About an hour, a good amount of penetrating oil, and many shop rags later, I have things mostly deconstructed. A good look at this 1963 Huffy frame. After the first pass with the angle grinder, the frame is starting to clean up nicely. Though I love this seat, I decided to go in a different direction with the bike’s overall look. The seat post however I needed to salvage, as it’s a really wonk nonstandard diameter that is no longer in common use.
